Jeff Miner, PhD Director Of Basic Research, Division of Nephrology

Jeffrey-Miner-PhDI am delighted to annnouce  that Jeff Miner, PhD, has agreed to assume the role of Director of Basic Research in the Division of Nephrology. Jeff has established himself as an international leader in basement membrane biology particularly as it relates to the glomerulus. He has received numerous recognitions for his creative work including the ASN Young Investigator Award, and he has mentored dozens of scientific trainees including several who remain on our faculty.

Jeff has agreed to assume this role beginning January 1, 2016. He will be responsible for aiding me with strategic decisions for the future of basic research in the division, for promoting collaboration within the division and outside of it and for assuring that all trainees in our basic science laboratories receive appropriate mentoring and career development, including individualized training plans. In addition, he will serve as Associate Director of the T32 Training Grant and will play an important role in our competitive renewal due this May.
