Kidney Translational Research Center (KTRC)
A central entity that facilitates many of our studies is the Washington University Kidney Translational Research Center (KTRC). The KTRC serves as a centralized, integrated biorepository through which researchers worldwide can access biospecimens and clinical data relevant to kidney disease research. Biospecimens include serum, urine, tissue, plasma, DNA and frozen biopsies from more than 3,500 adults and children of different ethnicities, race and socio-economic status, all of whom have various renal diseases and consented to participate in molecular, outcomes and genetic studies.
The KTRC was established during 2007-2012 with support from the NIH-funded George M. O’Brien Center (P30DK097333) and the Washington University Division of Nephrology.
