The Division of Nephrology is accepting applications for its 2017 Translational Innovation Grant. This program, now in its third year, provides resources to basic scientists and clinical investigators within the division to collaborate on research projects with translational potential.
Only proposals featuring a well-crafted plan that represents a true collaboration between research and clinical faculty within the division will be considered. Projects considered appropriate for submission, for example, include disease-specific human sample biobanking, novel analysis of kidney biopsy specimens with clinical correlation, generation of pilot data to support future translational NIH grant applications, or gene expression analysis in human tissue, just to name a few. Clinical investigations are also welcomed.
One grant will be funded in this cycle. This grant will be funded at a maximum of $50,000 total direct costs per year. Two payments of $25,00 will be made with the second payment contingent on completion of a progress report at six months. A summary will be due at the end of the funding period as well.
