Welcome to WashU Nephrology

Ashley Edwards Joins WashU Nephrology as Senior Fellowship Coordinator

Ashley “Ash” Edwards takes over as Nephrology Fellowship Coordinator

WashU Nephrology welcomes Ashley “Ash” Edwards who joins our division as the new Senior Fellowship Coordinator.

Ashley has been with WashU since 2015 when she joined the Department of Pathology and Immunology, eventually becoming their Fellowship Program Coordinator.  Most recently, she was Manager of Administrative Services for HR/Payroll.

Ashley and her husband, high school sweethearts

“I love being a part of Nephrology,” she says.  “My colleagues have been very welcoming and are wonderful to be around.  I truly enjoy being the coordinator for the fellowship program.  It’s in my nature to want to help and it’s an incredible feeling being involved in this chapter of our fellows’ lives.”

Ashley grew up in Granite City, Illinois.  She attributes her kindness and compassion to her mother, who was a stay-at-home-mom, while her strong work ethic “without a doubt” came from her stepfather.  Ashley went on to become a first-generation graduate, earning a degree in Administration and Technology and graduating with honors from Southwestern Illinois College.

“My husband and I met through mutual friends and became high school sweethearts.  We have been together for 17 years and have three children, ages 13, 10 and one.  In my free time, I like to paint, hike, travel, visit museums and create memorable experiences with my children.”

Welcome to the WashU Nephrology team, Ash!
