Transplant Fellows Welcome to WashU Nephrology

Dr. Wut Yi Hninn Joins WashU Nephrology Transplant Training Program

Dr. Wut Yi Hninn joins WashU Nephrology Transplant Training Program

WashU Nephrology welcomes Wut Yi Hninn, MBBS, to our Transplant Training Program.

Wut Yi earned her medical degree from the Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon, in Myanmar.  She completed her residency at Interfaith Medical Center, in Brooklyn, NY, and a fellowship in nephrology at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

A driving factor in Wut Yi’s desire to join our transplant fellowship comes from witnessing a family member, a recipient of a kidney transplant, having to travel from Myanmar to India just to see a transplant nephrologist.

“My desire is to continue to learn everything I can about this field of medicine and eventually return to my home country of Myanmar to open a transplant clinic, share my experience with local physicians in this realm of medicine, and offer community education programs and transplant options for all citizens in need.”

Wut Yi is fluent in English and Burmese and enjoys singing, dancing, traveling, and modeling for photoshoots – she claims to be “hyperactive” on Facebook!  You can also follow her on Twitter @wutyihninn.

The transplant, surgical, and medical teams at WashU/BJH have a very active presence on social media.  Please check out the following sites on Twitter:
