Lisa Koester-Wiedemann and Cheryl Cress Present at Annual Dialysis Conference 2026

WashU Nephrology Nurse Practitioner Lisa Koester-Wiedemann, CS, MSN, ANP, CNN-NP, and Clinical Nurse Coordinator of Home Modalities Cheryl Cress, RN, CNN, will share their expertise in dialysis education and patient care at the upcoming Annual Dialysis Conference (ADC) program, February 26 – March 1, 2026, in Kansas City, MO.

Now in its 46th year, the ADC is one of the premier international meetings focused on advances in dialysis care. The conference brings together clinicians, nurses, researchers, and industry partners to share the latest developments in hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, home therapies, and more.  The event is sponsored by the Karl Nolph, MD, Division of Nephrology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Koester-Wiedemann will lecture on “Patient Selection for HHD /Role of the Care Partner” in the HHD Fundamentals session, and “Keeping Dialysis Patients Transplant Ready”in the session Kidney Transplantation: The Road to Transplant and Back Again. She will also moderate the HD Fundamentals session.

Cheryl Cress

Cress will participate in the Nurse/APP Networking Event, an opportunity for dialysis nurses and advanced practice providers to connect, share insights, and build professional relationships.  In the session Pathways to Independence: In-Center Self-Care as a Model of Care and a Steppingstone to Home Hemodialysis, Cress will present the lecture “From Dependence to Independence: Strategies for Patient Empowerment and Training.”   Cress and Koester-Wiedemann will then join the subsequent panel discussion, which will highlight real-life case studies and best practices for implementing self-care models in clinical practice.
