Patricia Kao to Lead CV Workshop for FWIM

Patricia Kao will discuss Preparing an Effective CV for the Forum for Women in Medicine.

WashU nephrologist Patricia Kao, MD, MS, MHPE, Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology, will lead an interactive workshop on Preparing an Effective CV for the Forum for Women in Medicine (FWIM) on Wednesday, May 14, 2025.

The event, hosted by WashU Medicine Department of Medicine, will be held 5-7 pm on the 7th floor of Barnard.  Dinner will be provided.  The target audience is women residents, fellows, and junior faculty, but the workshop is open to all.

FWIM is a professional development initiative, founded in 2014 by Rakhee K. Bhayani, MD, that organizes skill building events for women trainees and faculty in the Department of Medicine using workshops, lectures, and networking events.  Namrata Patel, MD, took over the direction of FWIM in 2024.

“When I first joined the WashU faculty in 2016, FWIM was pivotal in helping me to connect with other women in the Department of Medicine,” says Dr. Kao. “It also played a key role in my professional development through its workshop series on creating effective CV’s and CEP’s, negotiation, and mentorship.”

Dr. Kao is Professor of Medicine in Divisions of Nephrology and General Medicine & Geriatrics, and is Director of the Washington University Teaching Physician Pathway (WUTPP).  She was recently awarded the 2025 ASP Eric G. Neilson, MD, Leadership in Specialty Internal Medicine Award.  Read more about Dr. Kao and her many accomplishments here.
