Clinician-scientist Tobias B. Huber, MD, Chairman of the Center for Internal Medicine at Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf, is the invited speaker at the Eduardo Slatopolsky Lecture in Renal and Electrolyte Disorders at the Department of Medicine’s Medicine Grand Rounds, Thursday, October 31, 2024, 8:00-9:00 am, Clopton Auditorium. Dr Huber will present Podocytopathies: Journey from Research to Real-World Impact.
Huber’s research focuses on finding new ways to prevent, halt, and cure kidney diseases through a better understanding of podocytopathies, the identification of complex principles of kidney diseases, immune-tissue interactions and interorgan signaling.
The lectureship honors the late Eduardo Slatopolsky, MD, WashU Nephrology, who dedicated his career to the study of kidney disease and mineral metabolism. He is recognized worldwide for his contributions to the understanding of the pathophysiology of secondary hyperparathyroidism, hyperphosphatemia and vitamin D biology. Dr. Slatopolsky passed away April 24, 2024.
