“I’d just like to say that I had an incredible 2 years at the program! From the first day, I felt welcome and part of the nephrology family. The learning environment has been exceptional with a good work-life balance. I have definitely made lifelong friendships! I will miss living in St. Louis. The ability to run or walk in Forest Park every day is hard to beat! I got to experience a wide variety of excellent restaurants in the area, and not to forget attending different live sporting events including a Cardinals, Blues, and a St. Louis soccer game! I will definitely be back to visit!“

Transplant Fellows:
Gaurav Rajashekar, MD, (@Renoplant) will join the University of Louisville faculty as an Assistant Professor in Transplant Nephrology.
“It’s been an absolute delight. The level of training and wide variety of pathology that we are exposed to as trainees is incredible. In the nephrology fellowship, you learn everything about nephrology in the 1st year, and then in the 2nd year you sharpen your skills. I pursued an additional year of transplantation nephrology. The whole year for me was a learning experience … from day 1 to day 365! I learnt from every kidney transplant (we did 350 of them), from every team member (multidisciplinary teams) and from every attending. It’s been a cerebral experience.
“As for living in St. Louis, Rajashekar has 3 words: “I’ll be back. Just amazing. From the wonderful people to the gorgeous parks, to the amazing food scene. You have everything.”
