Washington University transplant nephrologist Haris Murad, MD, joined FOX 2 NOW AM television program to discuss prevention and early detection of kidney disease in honor of World Kidney Day, March 12, 2020.

The global kidney day campaign, a joint initiative of the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations, is celebrated the second Thursday in the month of March to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health.

The theme of this year’s campaign is Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere – from Prevention to Detection and Equitable Access to Care.  Watch Dr. Murad’s interview here.

WU Nephrology will also be celebrating and spreading the word about kidney health and disease on March 29, 2020, when our team, Cool Beans, will participate in the annual St. Louis National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Kidney Walk.  Find out more about the event and help our team reach its goal of raising $6000.  All funds go toward research, patient services, professional education, public health education and community services.

Faculty and staff in the division also celebrated World Kidney Day with cake!  Check out more photos on the WashU Division of Nephrology Facebook page.
