The Paul Mennes, MD Memorial St. Louis City-Wide Renal Grand Rounds Dinner will be held Thursday April 19, 2018, at the Zodiac restaurant in Plaza Frontenac, St. Louis, MO.
Co-hosted by Washington University Divisions of Adult and Pediatric Nephrology and St. Louis University Divisions of Adult and Pediatric Nephrology, the event gives area nephrologists the opportunity to gather for dinner and academic discourse.
This year’s featured topic is Onconephrology. Speakers include Division of Nephrology Chief Benjamin D. Humphreys, MD, PhD, Professor of Medicine Anitha Vijayan, MD, and Renal Pathologist Joseph Gaut, MD, PhD. The evening’s case presentation/discussion has a CPC-like format that encourages audience participation.
The event is held in honor of nephrologist Paul Mennes, MD, a 1976 graduate of the Nephrology Fellowship Program at Washington University. In 1977, Mennes joined the medical staff at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO, where he soon became Section Chief of Nephrology in the Department of Internal Medicine. He became Chief of Medicine at St. Luke’s in 1989. Mennes passed away in 2014.
A reception will kick off the evening at 6:15 pm, followed by dinner at 7:00 pm. Case presentation and discussion begin at 7:05 pm.
All area nephrologists are invited, but RSVP is required before April 12 due to limited seating.
