The Division of Nephrology is proud to announce that, once again, we rank in the top 10 nephrology programs in the nation, according to The U.S. News & World Report. The magazine ranked BJH/WU #9 best hospital for nephrology in the U.S. for 2017-2018, with an overall score of 82.2/100. A list of the 50 top-scoring nephrology hospitals can be found here.
U.S. News & World Report evaluates data from nearly 5,000 hospitals. Hospitals are ranked on their performance in 16 areas of adult specialties, nine procedures and conditions, and 10 pediatric specialties. The score is derived from data such as the volume of high-risk patients, the quality of nursing, the presence of Intensivists, use of advanced technologies, patient safety and patient survival. The rankings provide a starting point for patients in their search for hospitals that best match their needs.
BJH/WU also celebrates being ranked as the #1 hospital in St. Louis, the #1 hospital in the St. Louis metro area, and #12 on the Best Hospital Honor Roll.. The hospital ranked nationally in a total of 12 adult specialties and was designated as high-performing in three adult specialties and nine adult procedure/conditions.
