“Living in St. Louis has been a pleasant surprise. I’ve come to enjoy the city more than I thought that I would when we first moved here. I have particularly enjoyed the food scene, as well as the numerous activities that are available to residents, such as exploring the museums and Zoo in Forest Park.”

Yasir Baloch, MBBS

Yasir is joining our WashU Nephrology faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine.
“My time at WashU Nephrology has been incredibly rewarding. The fellowship offered top-notch clinical and academic training, but what really made it special was the people. My colleagues felt like family and the culture here is welcoming, collaborative and genuinely supportive.
“That’s a big part of why I chose to stay on as faculty – it’s a place where you feel appreciated and encouraged to keep growing!
“Living in St. Louis has also been a great experience. I love the manageable size of the city – it’s easy to get around, with plenty of fantastic food options and unique neighborhoods to explore. The four seasons bring a nice variety and the city has a vibrant scene with local festivals, outdoor concerts and cultural events throughout the year. It’s been a great place to live and train – and I’ll be happy to call it home for the future!”

Felina Innaci Dass, MBBS

Felina is joining a private practice group in Orange County, California..
“I’ve been in St. Louis for the last 5 years, having completed my medical training including residency and fellowship here. St. Louis will forever hold a special place in my heart. It was my home during the most difficult and crucial time for a medical trainee. To me, St. Louis brings a big, but not so big, city vibe. We have a little bit of everything here which makes the city fun to explore.
“The last two years in WashU was a defining moment for me. I realized I love nephrology more than I ever knew. I will truly miss my co-fellows, attendings and just walking down the hallways of BJH. There’s a lot of bittersweet moments created in WashU over the last two years, and I will carry them with me on the next leg of my journey.”
