WashU Nephrology proudly congratulates Benjamin Humphreys, MD, PhD, Chief of the Division of Nephrology, on his appointment as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Investigation (JCI).
A prominent figure in kidney research and regenerative medicine, Dr. Humphreys joins the editorial board for a two-year term, contributing to JCI’s mission of advancing basic and clinical biomedical science to drive innovation and shape the future of medicine.
Humphreys’ research focuses on understanding the cellular and molecular mechanisms of kidney injury and repair to develop stem cell–based therapies for chronic kidney disease. His lab uses cutting-edge single-cell and spatial transcriptomic technologies to map kidney regeneration and fibrosis, helping to identify new therapeutic targets for patients suffering from acute and chronic kidney injury.
A past president of the American Society for Clinical Investigation, Humphreys also served on the Board of Scientific Counselors for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases. (View his ASCI profile here.)
