Nephrologist Timothy Yau, MD, was honored as the 2025 Stanley Lang Teacher of the Year at the recent WashU School of Medicine Distinguished Service Teaching Awards (DSTA) Ceremony.  The prestigious event recognized exceptional faculty members who have made outstanding contributions to the education and mentorship of future physicians for 2024-2025.

The DSTAs, supported by the Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE), are determined by nominations of WashU faculty by medical students.  The awards give students a meaningful way to recognize the invaluable contributions of their educators.

The Stanley Lang Teacher of the Year Award honors a faculty member who embodies the qualities of an exceptional physician and serves as a mentor, role model and guide in a student’s professional and personal growth.  The award upholds the legacy of Stanley J. Lang, PhD, a former professor of cell biology and physiology at WashU.

WashU Nephrology is proud to have Dr. Yau, a highly respected and valued educator, as a member of our faculty.   As an Associate professor of Medicine, Yau has earned widespread recognition for his dedication to teaching and mentorship, helping to shape the next generation of medical professionals with his expertise and commitment.
