The popular Nephrology Business Leadership University (NBLU) recently concluded its 2026 session, with three of our second-year fellows, Jacob Lambertsen, MD, Bibi Razak, MD, and Meng Lee, MD, proudly attending the graduation. Benjamin Humphreys, MD, PhD, Chief of WashU Nephrology and Secretary of the American Society of Nephrology (ASN), served on the National Leadership Panel: Leadership & the Future of Nephrology.

Now in its 11th year, NBLU brings senior nephrology fellows together for a week‑long, hands‑on program focused on the business and economics of nephrology practice. Through targeted rotations and interactive learning modules, fellows gain practical insight into private‑practice operations, reimbursement, and the broader healthcare landscape.
“All NBLU courses are thoughtfully designed, highly informative, and provide valuable insights into nephrology practice. The program offers an excellent opportunity to connect with leaders in both academic and private practice, as well as outstanding fellows from across the country.”

Participants leave better prepared to evaluate potential employers, navigate interviews, step confidently into group or solo practice, and build lasting mentor relationships.

The program is hosted through a collaboration of U.S. Renal Care, the University of California San Diego, and the Dallas Renal Group.
