Washington University Division of Nephrology faculty members Tingting Li, MD, MSCI, Associate Professor of Medicine, and Anitha Vijayan, MD, FASN, Professor of Medicine, have been chosen to serve on multiple American Society of Nephrology (ASN) committees.
Dr. Li is serving on the Publications Committee through 2022. The committee oversees current and future ASN publishing enterprises, which includes developing proactive approaches to changes in academic publishing, selecting the editors-in-chief for the society’s publications, reviewing proposed deputy editors and associate editors, annually reviewing the society’s publishing program, and reviewing ASN-authored manuscripts to ensure appropriateness before submission for publication.
Li is also a member of the Kidney Week Education Committee. Kidney Week is the world’s premier nephrology meeting. The committee plans the annual event’s program content, including educational sessions and abstracts.
An independent clinical investigator, Li is the Associate Program Director for Clinical Research and Career Development for WashU Nephrology’s fellowship program. She is also the director of the Glomerular Disease/Vasculitis Clinic.
Dr. Vijayan is serving on the ASN Kidney News Editorial Board. Kidney News is a monthly newsmagazine that highlights emerging trends in industry, medicine, and training that impact practitioners in all avenues of kidney health and disease. She has previously served on ASN’s Acute Kidney Injury (AKI) Advisory Group and was co-chair of one of the work groups of the Nephrologists Transforming Dialysis Safety Project (NTDS), an initiative that took on the task of reducing infections in dialysis facilities. Vijayan is also a member of the ASN AKI!NOW committee, launched to identify promising interventions and treatments for persons suffering from AKI, and the ASN COVID-19 Task Force.
